NYRR Millrose Games Miler: Mike Brannigan

As part of the lead up to the 107th NYRR Millrose Games, ArmoryTrack.com will be highlighting a number of student-athletes who have qualified for the New Balance High School Mile. The New Balance High School Mile has long been a staple at the NYRR Millrose Games, with past winners including sub-four minute miler Kyle Merber and 2013 IAAF World Championships qualifier Cory Mcgee. Today's Miler Spotlight is on Mike Brannigan.

ArmoryTrack.com: What's your greatest running achievement? 

Mike Brannigan: I feel my greatest running achievement is qualifying as a team for the Nike XC Nationals 2013 in Portland, OR. 

ArmoryTrack.com: Best piece of advice someone's ever given you?

Mike Brannigan: The best piece of advice I have ever received is from my Assistant Coach, Bob Berkely, to set specific running goals, long and short term, and to also set life goals. 

ArmoryTrack.com: What are three keys to your running success?

Mike Brannigan: Training, diet, and getting enough rest.

ArmoryTrack.com: Do you have any pre-race traditions or superstitions?

Mike Brannigan: I cross myself before every race.
